Companies are looking for way to advertise their site OFFLINE.

 

What they have found is that Pay-Per-Click has become expensive and to get to the first page on the search engines is very hard to do today.  Most people searching for a key word or phrase do not look beyond the first page.

 

So companies are looking for offline ways to get their URL’s into peoples hands and into their homes.  There are many ways to do just that, but there are 300 million people just in the U. S.

 

Classified advertising is the least expensive but is still $3.00 or more per word in the large magazines.  Each magazine reaches 100 or 200 thousand people but only a small percent read the classified ads.  Maybe 1% of the total if you are lucky.  And then out of that 1% how many will go to their website when the readers have a choice of hundreds of ads to look over?  So for $3 per word, an average of  $60 per 20 word ad, they might get 200 people to their website.

 

Don’t get me wrong.  This ad could pay for itself and even make a profit on the first sale depending on what the product is and how much profit is in the sale.  Most of the big companies that use this type of advertising ARE making a profit with these ads.  If they weren’t they would not repeat their ads month after month.

 

A way to get better response to a website is to have their URL’s in the persons home or office where every time they do something they get to see the URL.  Like on fridge magnets where every time they open the fridge they see the URL.  Or on mouse pads where they see the URL while working on the computer.  There are many more examples of how to get the URL’s of these companies into the homes of prospects but you get the idea.

 

Most of the ideas for advertising specialties with the URL on it are products that cost money for the person trying to make a part-time or full time living off of these items.  You could layout as much as $1 or more to have these items printed.  So you have to charge an advertiser $2 or more to make a decent mark-up.  That means if you want to distribute 2,500 items it will cost $2,500 dollars, upfront, to get the products printed.  Yes, you can get a 50% deposit from each advertiser but that takes some pretty good selling on your part.

 

So what can the small operator print with the advertisers ad on it that will cost very little but can be sold for 400 or 500 percent mark-up?  Paper and Ink products!  Like newsletters, flyers, one and two page publications.  But these take skills like desktop publishing and selling many ads in each newsletter or publication.  What we need is a product that ANYONE can make up right at their own computer and print without any skills at all beyond typing a URL into their computer.  That product has to be an item that many people would use on a daily basis and appeal to people that would be interested in a verity of products.

 

For example a newsletter will appeal only to the niche that the newsletter is written for and the mouse pad is a good general item but is expensive.  We want an item to advertise on that will appeal to a general public and cost pennies to produce.

 

The answer is BOOKMARKS.

 

With bookmarks you can print them right at your computer for about 1/10 of a cent apiece or you can have a printer print them for you at the cost of about four cents apiece.  That is for full color bookmarks with a plastic coating and printed both sides.
